Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal 16 March 1904 p 4

The grim reaper death comes unbidden and takes away a loved one, James E. Weaver. He departed this life March 4, 1904 at Oakland, Calif. The remains arrived here Thursday at 4:18 and were taken to the home of his aunt, Mrs. Edwards 504 E. Main St where the funeral was conducted March 11, 1904 by Rev. Paul Curpick at 10:30. Interment at Oak Hill.  James E. Weaver was a suffered of catarrh for many years which caused hemorrhages of the lungs. He was stricken suddenly of hemorrhages on his way home from the office. He was taken immediately to the hospital and death followed immediately afterward.  He attended college at Crawfordsville until he had an advanced education and afterwards received a position as auditor of the Union Pacific railroad.  Not boasting of his honesty or truthfulness, we can see clearly his (sorry rest gone).
